ABOUT THIS COFFEE

AA is Kenya's top coffee grade — the largest, densest beans of each harvest, and the ones that carry the most flavour. These are grown at high altitude on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range by cooperatives dedicated to quality, sustainability and community growth. After picking, the cherries are fully washed and then sun-dried for up to 21 days — a slow, meticulous process that produces a remarkably clean, vibrant cup. Expect bold blackcurrant up front, a smooth vanilla sweetness and a gentle chocolate finish. Freshly roasted in the UK at a light-to-medium level to keep all of that brightness intact, it makes a delicious filter coffee and a complex, bright espresso.

Our coffee is roasted in the UK in small, frequent batches. To ensure fast dispatch, we keep a small stock of freshly roasted beans ready to go. Coffee actually tastes best after a short rest period, so your beans arrive at the perfect time to enjoy.
Wholebeans: Best for maximum freshness if you have a grinder. Espresso: Fine grind for espresso machines. Filter: Medium grind for pour-over, drip, and Aeropress. Cafetiere: Coarse grind for French press/cafetiere.
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Don't refrigerate or freeze. For best flavour, use within 3-4 weeks of the roast date. Our bags have a one-way valve to release CO2 while keeping air out.
